Equipment for Impact Tests
In the Impact Test (Charpy and Izod), the specimens are submitted to an abrupt strength, which causes a fracture. The absorbed energy at the rupture of material, resulted from the impact of the pendulum in the sample, is used to calculate the impact strength of the hammer, σ [kJ/m2]:
σ= F * 1000 / b * h,
Where F = Force [J]; b = width [mm]; h = length [mm].
Applications and specifications:
Tests to solid materials, with impact energy up to 50 J;
